One of the greatest tools God gave us to learn to live as a disciple of God and to share God's Love with those around us is the Bible. The Bible is our road map in our daily lives. It is the infallible word of God. Because of this, we believe we need to study it and learn from it daily. Ms. Patsy Lane leads a weekly Bible Study at our church. To learn more about this or other events, please contact us and we will be happy to answer your questions to the best of our ability.

"THE THINKING CHRISITAN" (Romans 12:3-5 and Romans 3:9-18

The power to think, discover, wonder, and imagine is one of the greatest gifts God has granted to us. Have we forgotten that thinking is the necessary God-ordained means of knowing God Himself. Aren't we as Christians called to use our minds to battle the false ideas that are blinding people to the truth? The question we should be asking is, "How do we think God’s thoughts after Him when contemporary thought does not leave room for Him at all? This series is intended to help us come a biblical understanding of the the role mind plays in the Christian Life.

Romans 12:3-5

Gifts of Grace

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among younot to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

"For our God is a consuming fire." - Hebrews 12:29

The more time we spend with Jesus, who Himself encompasses all that is true, the more we realize the need for absolute honesty before Him. As we work out that which is within (our salvation who is Christ Himself), we find ourselves subjected to the light of God. To submit to the light is to submit to burning. “For our God is a consuming fire”, and all that is untrue in us must be burned clean. This process is called sanctification. It would be a lie to say that dying to ourselves is easy, but it is true to say that it is a good death, for in it we find life. Fire purifies; it reveals the true nature of the thing in which it burns, leaving only that which is immovable. May God destroy all that is untrue in us, that we might remain in Him, for those that are closest to Him understand the greatness of their need for Him.
